The four-day forum and exhibition was held from 15 to 18 October 2024 with more than 175,000 attendees from more than 123 countries and regions, under the theme "The Future is Now".

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Telecommunications (DoT), the Government of India and the Mobile Operators Association of India (COAI), the four-day forum and exhibition was held from 15 to 18 October 2024 with more than 175,000 attendees from more than 123 countries and regions, under the theme The Future is Now.

IMC 2024 showcased India's innovation ecosystem, with leading technology and telecom companies and innovators highlighting quantum technology and circular economy developments, highlighting 6G, 5G use cases, cloud computing and edge computing, IoT, semiconductors, cybersecurity, green technology, satellite communications, and electronics manufacturing.

Besides, it attracted more than 310 partners and exhibitors, including 13 government departments and 29 academic institutions, and hosted more than 186 sessions, bringing together around 820 speakers from across the globe and India for in-depth discussions on industry insights. The forum showcased more than 920 startups under its flagship startup program, "Aspire", with the aim of highlighting their innovations.

As expected, Artificial Intelligence (AI) took center stage at the Mobile Congress India 2024 (IMC 2024), with various tech and telecom companies, including startups and educational institutions, showcasing more than 900 technology use case scenarios, including 750 AI-based use cases, during the 4-day conference in New Delhi, India.

The focus of AI-enabled use cases is protection, convenience, efficiency, safety, automating dangerous tasks, assisting humans and others. AI-powered virtual agents take over the contact center's workload while addressing a shortage of doctors in remote locations. Some of the key use cases include rail safety solutions, including AI-based systems that can detect anomalous activity on the tracks and send alerts.

Commending the participation of the education industry, Ramakrishna P, CEO, IMC said, “IMC 2024 saw participation from several education institutes including IITs and other engineering colleges and universities. They got an opportunity to share their ideas, display their innovations and interact with industry leaders, investors and experts from different fields. IMC 2024 provided the ideal setting for enriching ideas incubated in college labs with the right mentorship opportunities.”
